Coastal Children's Advocacy Center

Requirements:

 

Master’s degree (social work, psychology, counseling, or related discipline) and licensure. At least two years’ clinical experience with children and families needed. Knowledge of dynamics of abuse, experience with criminal justice system, familiarity with community resources, and flexibility, maturity, ability to work without close supervision, and excellent oral and written skills needed.

Bi-lingual a plus, but not required.

Hours:

 

Full-time, 40 hours/week, with flexibility as to how hours are worked. At least one evening may be needed. Salary Range $42,000 to $45,000 a year

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide individual counseling to child victims of sexual and/or severe physical abuse, and those who have witnessed violence, both at the center and at clients’ schools;
  • Provide individual counseling for non-offending parents, caretakers, and other family members of child abuse victims, as needed;
  • Provide family counseling for victims and non-offending family members, as appropriate;
  • Offer follow-up counseling, as needed, to children and families previously served by the center;
  • Testify in Superior and Juvenile Courts in cases involving center clients;
  • Assist with intakes of new clients, and provide crisis intervention, information and referrals, emotional support, as needed;
  • Conduct forensic evaluations with young children, following appropriate training, when indicated;
  • Develop therapeutic programs and outreach services to meet the needs of current and potential CCAC clients;
  • Assist with community education and professional training, and represent CCAC at professional and civic group meetings, as needed;
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director or Board of Directors.
